In Baliakandi Upazila, the teacher was accused of shoe-shining
The headmaster of a government primary school in Rajbari Baliakandi upazila has been accused of kicking the assistant teacher of the same school in the shoes. Allegedly, the headmaster Mahbubul Haque injured him by kicking his shoes while he was talking about asking for leave.
The teacher further said that this morning she had asked the headmaster Mahbubul Haque for leave to attend the shraddha ceremony of former headmaster Mukul Kumar Saha's father. The two of them started talking. At one point, Mahbubul Haque took off his shoes and started hitting him. He was hit in the face and nose. Then Mahbubul Haque grabbed him by the hair and laid him on the ground.
On hearing the news, other teachers of the school came to the spot and calmed down the situation. Later, the teacher's husband and teacher leaders came to the spot.
Mr. Shahidul Islam, President of Bangladesh Primary Teachers Association Baliakandi Upazila Committee, said that an unpleasant incident had taken place between the two teachers. However, headmaster Mahbubul Haque has claimed that he has been mentally ill since he was the victim of an accident.

Mr. Hasibul Hasan, UNO, Baliakandi, said that he knew about the matter verbally. The victim teacher has been asked to lodge a written complaint. He said that an investigation committee will be formed after receiving the complaint. The inquiry committee said further legal action would be taken if the allegations were found to be true.
